Gerald John Connolly, 87, a long time former resident of Orange, passed away on March 25, 2017. Gerald was born on March 7, 1930 in Stamford to the late Thomas and Veronica Connolly.

Gerald is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Dora (Montefuscoli); his daughter, Patricia and her husband Robert Altman, and their son Jack, all of Kinderhook, NY; twin brother, Eugene Connolly of Stamford, CT; sisters-in-law, Bridget Connolly and Jocie Connolly both of Stamford, CT; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

After graduating from Stamford High School in 1949, Gerald enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed for four years at the Pentagon as a Communications Specialist. He then worked for Western Union Telegraph Co. for 36 years as a Supervisor of Technical Services Operations. He and Dora lived in Orange for over 48 years. A devout Catholic, he was a member of Holy Infant Church in Orange and the St. Augustine Council #41 of the Stamford Knights of Columbus, and later of St. Michael the Archangel Church after moving to North Greenbush, NY in 2013. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Francis, Thomas and Robert; sister-in-law Kathleen Connolly; and brother- and sister-in-law, Genaro and Louise Montefuscoli.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Rd., Orange, CT. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford, CT. Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.
