Thomas Dennis Bogardus, Sr.

Thomas Dennis Bogardus, Sr., 71, of Ansonia, beloved husband of Sharon Lee Bogardus, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2018. Born on February 3, 1947 in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Robert G. and Ethel Sterbinsky Bogardus.  

Tom was a graduate of Warren Harding High School and Sacred Heart University. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Tom worked for Remington Arms Co. in Bridgeport where he became a licensed industrial electrician. He also worked 31 years at Schick Razor Co. in Milford before retiring in 2003 as an electrician, maintenance engineer, and supervisor.

Tom loved to travel, something he did a lot of during his years at Schick. Tom also liked most sports. He was an avid softball player for over 40 years in the Bridgeport, Stratford, and Milford areas. Tom was a good husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all.

Tom is survived by his wife, Sharon Bogardus; children, Thomas D. (Brandi) Bogardus, Jr. and Michele Lee Bogardus; grandchildren, Dennis and Bella; brothers, Robert (Carole) Bogardus, Frank (Mary) Bogardus, and Edward Bogardus; and many nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his brother, Paul E. Bogardus, Sr.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. Interment will follow at Mount Saint Peter Cemetery, 219 New Haven Ave., Derby, CT 06418. Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the funeral home.
