Stephen Vargoshe, 87, beloved husband of Pauline Vargoshe, passed away on May 9, 2023. Born on May 16, 1935 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Stephen and Anna Vargoshe.
Steve is a proud veteran of the US Navy, having served as a Radioman on the USS Cotton Destroyer during the Korean War. He graduated from Bullard Havens Technical School and CT School of Electronics. His career path echoed his love for country, having worked on missile installations and as a technical writer at Sikorsky Aircraft. His caring and loving spirit will be missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his beautiful wife Pauline, their loving daughter, Cindy (Vargoshe) Vassilowitch and Steve Cooper. He leaves behind the apple of his eye, granddaughter, Ashley Vassilowitch and Coury Brown. He will rest eternally with his late grandson, Jonathan Vassilowitch. He is also predeceased by his brother, John (Skip) and Eleanor Vargoshe, his sister Ethel and Pete Apatow and his nephew Peter Apatow. He is survived by his nephew, John and wife, Louise Vargoshe and nieces, Ruth Secchiaroli and Ann Apatow. His furry buddies, Marley and Sheba, already miss him.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 BROAD ST., MILFORD, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 81 Center Rd., Woodbridge, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St., Milford.
