Robert "Bob" Protomastro

Robert “Bob” Protomastro, 79, of Milford, beloved husband of Marie Protomastro, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on January 23, 2022. Born on September 4, 1942 in New Jersey, he was the son of the late Vincenzia Lombardi Protomastro. 

Bob was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He grew up in Hoboken where he met the love of his life on a blind date that lasted 57 years. After a few years working in NYC, he moved his family to Milford where he enjoyed raising his girls. Bob loved being with friends, traveling, and loved to laugh and entertain his grandsons with “grandpa jokes”, creative stories, and corny magic tricks. An ideal day for Bob included walking along the beach, two-for-one sundaes and evenings with his longtime friends.

Along with his wife, Bob leaves behind his daughters, Marie Patel and her husband, Dr. Devang Patel, and Denise Ackerman and her husband, Roger; four grandsons; brothers, Nicholas Protomastro and Dr. Gerard Protomastro and his wife, Joan; brother-in-law, James Ciani and his wife, Dolores; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his sisters, Anne Murphy and Joan Nintzel.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Masks will be required, and please refrain from attending if you are not feeling well. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford. Burial will follow at Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St., Milford. For those who wish to make a memorial contribution in Bob’s name, donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation or Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital
