Robert Peter Petrucelli Sr.

Robert P. Petrucelli, Sr., age 90, of Milford, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 14, 2022 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Carmela (Fellows) Petrucelli. Born in Bridgeport on May 12, 1932, he was a son of the late Peter and Lena (D’Elia) Petrucelli. Mr. Petrucelli served in the Army during the Korean War. He was employed by the Bridgeport Post as a linotype operator for over 20 years and he worked at the Milford Citizen before his retirement. He was involved with the Milford Little League for decades; besides baseball, he loved golfing, classical music, his daily cigar and crossword puzzle, his wife’s cooking, spending time with family and his many canine companions. A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, Carmela, he is survived by his loving children, Robert Petrucelli, Jr. and his wife Mary Shropshire of West Haven, Mark Petrucelli of Milford, Tammy Petrucelli and her spouse Susan Brown of West Haven, Jamie Petrucelli and his wife Karen of Milford, his two cherished grandchildren, Julianna Petrucelli and Christopher Petrucelli, as well as several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Gloria Battistelli, in 2016 and his brother, Fred Petrucelli, in 2018. Funeral services and internment will be private.
