Robert W. Lubbers

Robert W. Lubbers, 61, of Milford, CT, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2019, in the arms of his wife and soulmate, Ruth Becker Lubbers, and surrounded by family. 

Born in Manhasset, New York in 1958, he and Ruth graduated from Manhasset High School in 1976 and married in 1981.

Bobby is pre-deceased by his parents, Robert Bartow Lubbers (2017) and Grace Oestreich Lubbers (2000). He is survived by his sister, Wendy Bartow Lubbers of Hiram, GA; nephew, Richard Melichar and his wife, Megan Rendace Melichar; grandnephew, Michael Robert Melichar of Port Washington, NY; sister-in-law, Susan Becker Alagna and her husband, John Alagna; and niece, Olivia Grace Alagna of Mastic, NY. 

Bobby and Ruth both graduated from Manhasset High School in 1976. Bobby graduated from Maine Maritime Academy Class of 1980 and served in the Merchant Marines as a Second Mate running oil tankers worldwide. In 1983 he came ashore to work for Odin Marine Group LLC in Connecticut as a shipping broker and ship operator for 36 years. 

Friends and family may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
