Peter Cavallaro

Peter J. Cavallaro, 87, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Claire Cavallaro, passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2022. Born on April 3, 1934 in South Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Michelena Cavallaro.  

Pete had several jobs throughout his life.  A jack of all trades, he was very handy and could fix or adapt anything to his needs.  He worked for AFCO before his employment with the St of CT DOT.  He also had his own landscaping business (which was his true passion), and upon retirement from the St of CT. he did this full time.

He enjoyed his home, caring for his yard, spending time with his family-especially his brother-in-law Joe, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Pete will be greatly missed by his children, Peter (Sharon) J. Cavallaro of Franklin, OH, Paula (Chet) Rutkowski of Ansonia, Michael (Kim) L. Cavallaro of Milford, and Brian (Rebecca) D. Cavallaro of Boston MA; grandchildren, Deanna (Cameron), Heather (Anthony), Eric, Casey (Ryan), Korinne, Tyler, Amelie, and Maxine; great grandchildren, Troy, Brandon, Mateo, and Ellie Claire, sister Ann Hellwig of Bantam, brother-in-law Joe Stramondo of Wolcott, and many extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his sisters Mary DiNatale, Jean Rivers, and Louise Stramondo. 

Family and friends may call on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. A Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will immediately follow at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Ln., Middletown CT 06457. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice 100 Double Beach Rd.
