Loretta C. Buckley

Loretta C Buckley, 88, of Milford, CT, beloved wife of the late John P Buckley, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2022.  Born on November 20, 1933, in New Bedford, MA. After raising 5 children of her own, she still had so much love to give, she went on to provide care for more children over the years. ‘Mrs B’ was loved by the many children she cared for. She had a passion for gardening, dancing and singing. Her family has fond memories of her singing and humming throughout the day.  She was very involved in the choir and various activities at St Anne’s church. She was a graceful swimmer and enjoyed many hours in her pool. She made friends wherever she went and they can attest to the kind and loving person she was. Her sweet smile will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, John (Mary) Buckley, Kathleen Peterson, Lynn (Walter) Perry, Carol (Norman) Stratton and Michael Buckley. Her sister, Georgette Theodore;  her grandchildren Sean (Laura) Buckley, Molly (Michael) Gruschow, Colette & Adam Peterson, Brendan (Erin Johnson) Perry, Caitlin (Jay) Burns, Erin Perry, Jesse (Erin) Stratton, Sarah (Brendan) Gordon, Hannah & Madeline Buckley (and their mother Julie). Great grandchildren, Michael, Noah, Lucy, Kira and baby Burns coming December 2022. Her great grand-dogs, Bruno & Bailey. Many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, John. Her grandson James Peterson and her son in-law Donny Peterson.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Orange Health Care for their kind and compassionate care the last several months.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Saint Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Ann Church. Interment will take place at Saint Mary Cemetery following mass.
