Linda J. Fleming

Linda Jane Fleming, 74, of Guilford, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2020. Born on October 4, 1946 in Framingham, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Flossie Ewing.  

Linda attended Medway High School, The University of Massachusetts, Oklahoma State where she finished her Master’s Degree, and Victory Bible School. She lived all over the country…..MA, ME, CT, OH, GA, KS, IA, OK, NJ, KY, and Scotland. She owned her own restaurant and shared her love for cooking and baking with her friends and family. She loved to share recipes, have parties, and cook for any occasion. Every holiday had her amazing pies. She loved her children and grandchildren and they were the source of her happiness. She loved cooking and crafting with them while hearing their stories and sharing her own stories. Linda’s laugh was always heard throughout when she was gathered with friends and family. She had a love for gardening and shared this with all who knew her. She was especially proud of her beautiful garden at her house in Camden, Maine. Linda was blessed with many friends who guided her through her life and she guided them as well. Her most powerful guide was God and Jesus and she lived every day in Their honor. She is loved and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Linda is survived by her children, Christopher (Diane) Fleming and Patrick (Jennifer) Fleming; her grandchildren, Alexander (Karla), Ian, Katharine, Alyssa, Michael, Jake, and Katie; her siblings, Judy (Paul) Fitzpatrick, Valerie (Larry) Hansen, Carol (Sam) Gaglio, and Nancy (Raymond) McGarty, Terry Wirkerman, Alan Powell; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Ewing and Elaine Ewing. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepmother, Myrna Gaetz Ewing; and brothers, Joseph and David Ewing.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Orange Center Cemetery, Orange Center Rd., Orange, CT. Please adhere to social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Episcopal Church, 71 River St., Milford, CT 06460.
