John Haas

John Haas, 84, of Milford, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2019. He was born on August 19, 1934 in New Haven to the late Frank A. and Anna M. Haas.

John was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for A.C. Gilbert and Augurs Dairy, both in New Haven, and owned Sparkle Cleaners in Hamden for over 30 years. John coached both his children in baseball and basketball for the Hamden Recreational League. He greatly enjoyed watching the UCONN Women’s basketball games.

John is survived by his children, William Haas and Deborah (John) Alexopoulos; grandchildren, Victoria Haas and Christina and Nicole Alexopoulos; nieces, Stacey Rozas and Maureen Haas; and his former wife, Adele Haas.

Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
