Douglas Alan Kiss

Douglas Alan Kiss, 74, of Milford, beloved husband of Joy (DelGiorno) Kiss, passed away on July 27, 2021. Born on August 6, 1946 in Bridgeport, CT he was the son of Margaret (Sency) Kiss and the late Geza Kiss. 

Douglas was a passionate Yankee and UCONN Women’s basketball fan and loved watching/coaching his kids and grandchildren play sports whether on the volleyball court, softball or baseball fields, or soccer fields. He and Joy loved to travel to the beach and shared many memorable trips together. He enjoyed golfing and camping with friends and family and was an avid reader of sports and music literature. 

Douglas graduated from Andrew Warde High School in 1964 and University of New Haven 1972 with a degree in English. He worked for many years in medical sales as a regional manager. Douglas is an Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam war. He had a beautiful voice that served as the lead for a little-known Fairfield County band, Fyre and his version of O’ Holy Night made the parishioners cry in church.

In addition to his wife and mother, Douglas is also survived by his children, Douglas (Margaret) Kiss, Alison (Michael) Dougherty, and Lauren (Steven) Merrick; his grandchildren, Alexa and Abigail Kiss, and Elisa and Lavinia Dougherty; his brother, William (Gloria) Kiss; his nieces and nephews, Suzanne Vick, Brian (Jessica) Kiss, A.J. Kiss, Shannon Kiss, Joy (Richard) Paul, and Megan (Bryan Marsh) Purcell; and his dog/best friend, Gracie. In addition to his father, Douglas was predeceased by his brother, David Kiss.
