Desmond Anthony McFadden, 73 of Milford, CT, beloved husband of Sharron McFadden, passed away on August 5, 2019. Desmond was born on August 13, 1945 in New York, NY to Kathleen and John McFadden.
Desmond joined the Army after high school where he received numerous honors including marksman with various rifles as well as being part of the 101st airborne. He was also a teletype-cripto operator, critical for military communications. After receiving an honorable discharge, he went on to multiple careers and obtaining many skills such as bagel baking in the Bronx and graduating tractor trailer school and obtaining his class-A CDL. His main career and passion in life was plumbing and heating. He eventually left NY, came to CT where he met his wife Sharron and started his own company - McFadden’s Plumbing located in Milford, where he was the President for 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing with his dogs, playing cards, cooking, and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Sharron; son, Zackary; daughter, Alishia Casazza and son-in-law, Michael Casazza; brother, William McFadden; sisters, Margret Lee and Patricia Bell; nephews, Michael Martinetto, Henri Lee, George Lee, Billy Lee, Stephen Lee, John Lee, Daniel McFadden, Joseph Mezes, John Mezes, Mathew Bell, Peter McFadden, John McFadden, and Thomas Pereira; nieces, Sue Mendola, Alison Nelson, Joan McFadden, Kathleen Jameson, Janie Pagnanella, Marie-Elena Bell, Elizabeth Zilempe, and Mary-Frances Smith. He is predeceased by his brothers, Edward McFadden and John McFadden; sisters, Rosemary Campbell, Kathleen Mezes, Frances Pereira, and Theresa McFadden; nephews, Stephen McFadden and William McFadden; and niece, Carol-Ann Campbell.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church (Precious Blood Parish), 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT with Military Honors to immediately follow. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
