Peter S. Mancuso, 92, of Trumbull, formerly of West Haven, beloved husband of the late Rosalie Mancuso, passed away on September 25, 2017. Peter was born on August 24, 1925 to the late Guisseppe and Anna Mancuso.

Peter was a proud, yet humble, World War II Army Veteran who aided in liberating Europe and two concentration camps by fighting in multiple battles including the Battle of the Bulge. Peter was an extremely talented and gifted musician who played the saxophone, clarinet and flute. He used these talents to play in the Buddy Morrow Big Band Orchestra. Even with these accomplishments, his greatest pride was his grandson, Darren, carrying on his love of music.

Peter leaves behind his daughters, Trudy Ann (Greg) Litzie of Milford, and Dolores (Ken) Wetmore of Deland, FL; grandsons, Darren Litzie of Milford, Randy Zemke of MN, Robert Zemke of Long Island, NY, Ken Wetmore, Jr. of NH and Kyle Wetmore of CT; and a sister, Angelina Coe. Peter was predeceased by his brother, Albert Mancuso.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 9:45 a.m. at Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St., Milford, CT. Contributions in Peter’s name may be made to the American Legion Post 196, 25 Merwin Ave., Milford, CT 06460. The family is being compassionately cared for by the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.
