Katherine Anne Carberry, 81, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Carberry, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2018 after a brief illness. Born on April 26, 1936 in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Kathern Steele Griffin.

She graduated from Milford High School in 1954 and Central Connecticut State University in 1958. She taught business education in public high schools in Milford and Trumbull, and worked as a secretary for the City of Milford and a number of local companies. A lifelong resident of Milford, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She gave much of herself in service to her family, friends, and students.

Katherine is survived by her three children, Mary Ann (Stephen Kraffmiller) Carberry of Waltham, MA; Francis (Kathleen) Carberry of Winthrop, MA; and Edward J. (Nardia Haigh) Carberry of Boston, MA; three grandchildren, Anna Kraffmiller and Rachel and Nicholas Doonan; three siblings, Nancy Pluto of New Bern, NC, Lawrence Griffin of Milford, and Robert (Rosanne) Griffin of Narragansett, RI; sister-in-law, Beth Murphy of Hamden, CT; brother-in-law Robert (Barbara) Carberry of St. Augustine, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Katherine was predeceased by her brother, Edward Griffin.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Milford Hospital, as well as Connecticut Hospice for the care they provided during her brief stay there.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 2, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford. Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Milford Hospital, The Milford Hospital Foundation, 300 Seaside Avenue, Milford, CT 06460 and/or Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
