Josephine Catherine Castiglione Picone, 95, beloved wife of the late Blase Peter Picone, Sr., passed away peacefully on July 18, 2017.  Born in New Haven on November 23, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Philomena Pagliaro Castiglione. She graduated from Commercial High School in New Haven in 1939. She met and then married her loving late husband of 67 years on April 12, 1942. It snowed that day.

She is survived by her son, Blase (Dianne) Picone, Jr. of Madison; her daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Picone of Orange; three granddaughters, Lauren Picone of Boston, Melissa Hicock and Rachel Perrone, both of New York City; and her brother, Robert Castiglione of New Haven.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Rita Castiglione, Mary Scafarella, Jean Corso, Salvatore “Skippy”, John, Joseph, and Frank “Chubby” Castiglione.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Shelton branch of Connecticut Hospice, in particular, nurses Gin Hill and Christina Kershaw, and aide, Marsha Quick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Holy Infant Church (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Orange Center Cemetery, Orange Center Road, Orange, CT.
