Jesus Maria Fernandez

Jesus Maria Fernandez, 78, of Milford, beloved husband of Juana Ramirez Fernandez, passed away on March 21, 2024. Born on July 10, 1945 in San Jose de las Matas, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Felix and Ana Corona Fernandez. 

In the Dominican Republic, Jesus owned and managed a coffee farm located in Sabaneta, Mata Grande. He then migrated to the United States in the late 70’s where he worked as a chef at a Greek Restaurant for over 20 years. His work experience fostered his love for cooking for his friends and family and he enjoyed spending time with them over a cup of coffee.

Jesus is survived by his siblings Berlaminio, Otilio, Elma, Lucy,Cecilio, Mercedes, Martina, Mariana, and Juan Ramon (Manito) Fernandez. He will join his sisters, the late Roselia and Matilde.

He leaves behind the love of his life, Juana Ramirez Fernandez, with whom he spent 55 years happily married. Jesus and Juana had four lovely children, Nieves Ortega, Ana Pena, JhoselinTejeda, and Samuel Fernandez. Not only was Jesus a wonderful father but a loving and sweet grandfather to Yeltsin and Rayson Ortega, Francis and Lizsandra Pena, Stacy Lugo and SebastianTejeda, Kassandra, Samantha, and Amanda Fernandez, and the late Brian Ortega. This beloved grandfather was also blessed enough to meet his two great grandchildren Sophia and Leandro Pena. Jesus was surrounded by a very big family that enjoyed spending time with him often and especially during Christmas, where they always made sure to be together.

Jesús María Fernández, de 78 años, de Milford CT, amado esposo de Juana Ramírez Fernández, falleció el 21 de marzo de 2024. Nacio el 10 de julio de 1945 en San José de las Matas, República Dominicana, era hijo del fallecido Félix y Ana. Corona Fernández.

En República Dominicana, Jesús era dueño y administraba una finca cafetalera ubicada en Sabaneta, Mata Grande. Luego emigró a los Estados Unidos a finales de los años 70, donde trabajó como chef en un restaurante griego durante más de 20 años. Su experiencia laboral fomentó su amor por la cocina. Y disfrutaba cocinar para sus amigos y familiares y pasar tiempo con ellos tomando una taza de café.

A Jesús le sobreviven sus hermanos Berlaminio, Otilio, Elma, Lucy, Cecilio, Mercedes, Martina, Mariana y Juan Ramón (Manito) Fernández. Se unirá a sus hermanas, las fallecidas Roselia y Matilde.

Deja atrás al amor de su vida, Juana Ramírez Fernández, con quien pasó 55 años felizmente casado. Jesús y Juana tuvieron cuatro hermosos hijos, Nieves Ortega, Ana Peña, Jhoselin Tejeda y Samuel Fernández. Jesús no solo fue un padre y esposo maravilloso, sino también un abuelo cariñoso y dulce para Yeltsin y Rayson Ortega, Francis y Lizsandra Peña, Stacy Lugo y Sebastián Tejeda, Kassandra, Samantha y Amanda Fernándezy el fallecido Brian Ortega. Este querido abuelo también tuvo la suerte de conocer a sus dos bisnietos, Sophia y Leandro Peña. Jesús estaba rodeado de una familia muy grande que disfrutaba pasar tiempo con él a menudo y especialmente durante la Navidad, donde siempre se aseguraban de estar juntos.

Sus restos serán velado de 2 p.m. a 6 p.m. el domingo 24 de marzo de 2024 en CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 BROAD ST., MILFORD, CT.
