James J. “Jim” Patterson, a man of unwavering integrity, dry humor, and a heart filled with love, peacefully passed away on March 20, 2024, surrounded by his devoted family. Born on June 15, 1956, in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Wilfred and Edith Patterson, Jim found his lifelong companion in Kathy Lynn Patterson, whom he married on May 17, 1991. He embraced Kathy's children as his own from the very beginning, embodying the essence of a true family man.
Jim was not only dedicated to his family but also to his career and community. As a truck driver for Local 443 and an alderman for Milford, CT, from 2004 to 2011, he tirelessly served his community with passion and commitment. His involvement in the Lions Club spanned decades, where he held various roles and eventually ascended to the esteemed position of President from July 1, 2022. His selfless dedication was recognized with accolades such as the Melvin, Jones, and Knight of the Blind awards.
Beyond his professional and civic endeavors, Jim cherished his role as "Pop-Pop" to his grandson, whom he adored and referred to as "my little buddy." His love for his family was evident until his final moments, as he selflessly expressed his desire for his family to fulfill his grandson's dream of visiting Disney.
In addition to his beloved wife, Kathy, he is survived by their two children: Jennifer Esposito (Dino Guerra) and Lori Esposito, grandson Andrew Guerra, sister Sandie Patterson-Kwet, brother-in-law Louis Avantino (Connie Avantino), nieces, nephews, and additional beloved family and friends. He is predeceased by his seven siblings: Frank Patterson, Robert Patterson, Wilfred Patterson, Ernest Patterson, Patricia Monginho, Dorothy Patterson, Edward Patterson and Rita King.
