Alfred A. Simon, 94, of Milford, CT, beloved husband of the late Wendy Simon, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2017. Born on October 21, 1922 he was the son of the late Joseph and Julia Simon. Al was a veteran of the US Army 360th Airdrome Squadron and served in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes Central Europe. Al was a tool and die maker at Moore Special tool in Bridgeport, CT until his retirement. He enjoyed swimming, gardening, riding bikes and was a self-taught musician. He played the saxophone for many years with the Band "The Clubmen". He is survived by his daughters, Linda Wankowicz and her husband Peter of West Haven, Janice Ross and her husband Brad of Milford; his son, Robert Simon and his wife Cindy of Ansonia. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nina Ross of Bridgeport, Joseph Ross of Oakdale, Ashley Schwarzkopf and her husband Barney of Oxford, Amber Fiallos and her husband Juan of Seymour, his great grandchildren, Parker Ross and Evan Schwarzkopf; and his nephew, Henry Kutash of Fairfield. Al was predeceased by his wife Wendy; and his sisters, Julia Ferency, Mary Kutash and Anne Bobko. A private memorial service will be held in his honor at a later date.
